I lost another friend

    I followed up with the temp agency I interviewed with last month. They haven't found anything that might be a good fit for me. I doubt they will.

    So I can't handle a hotel clerk job. i can barely handle the minimum-wage job I have now. I can't type on a phone.

    The other day, when I saw my psychiatrist, he said I have a defeatist attitude. Sending out God knows how many resumes and only getting emails saying "We have decided to move on in our search without you," if I'm lucky to get any response at all, can do that.

    Believe it or not, it wasn't always this way. At first, after I was laid off, I was optimistic that I had transferable skills that I could sell to someone. I guess that's not true.

    So this is going to end one of two ways. Eventually, I'll get the kind of job I've been seeking for the last 9 months or sometime within the next year a cleaning lady will find my body in a hotel room.

    I just don't see a third way, at least one that would make me want to live.
