That was amazing. SportsCenter then showed one from the Swedish League where the guy was behind the net, bounced it off the cage back to himself to get him free from the defender then lacrossed it into the goal. It was something to see.

Shockingly, he was the No. 1 star of the game for that one. The only way Petr Mrazek wasn't going to get that.

Sunday will be the 2,000th game in Anaheim Ducks history and 1,000th game for Ryan Getzlaf. Pretty cool he’ll play in exactly half.

A mutual friend knew him well before Miracle/80. This isn't that guy.

I know guys from that time and a price is being paid.

Ah, the Sharks ... outshoot Winnipeg 52-19, and manage to lose 3-2 on a one-timer with 90 seconds left.

Agreed. I have never met Mark Pavelich but talking to folks that have, he was universally held in high regard.

It's been a sad few years - apart from this, Pavelich lost his wife a few years ago when she suffered fatal injuries in a fall off the deck of their house. Before all the darkness Pavelich's story was a fascinating and charming one - this is a guy who quit the Rangers because he hated the way his coach wanted him to play and didn't like living in New York City, and was content to live in the woods in extremely remote northern Minnesota.

He's not the only Miracle on Ice guy who's struggling. Neal Broten has been arrested for drunk driving at least five times.

Fabbri is the second first rounder from the 2014 draft Steve Yzerman has picked up in the last couple of weeks, along with Brendan Perlini. If they work, great. If not, no big deal. A couple of smart, low-cost moves for a team that needs talent

Red Wings acquire Robby Fabbri from Blues for Jacob de la Rose

Caps are on a pace for 130 points. That's unsustainable, and given recent history of teams with ridiculous point totals .... Just saying that banking a bunch of points early isn't a bad thing, because a swoon will come eventually.

Already happening in Raleigh. Not griping, mind you - for once they're not chasing their tails after the first 10 games of the season - but the peaks and valleys are usually inevitable.

And ask any Lightning fan if they'd rather see one earlier in the season after the way their 2018-19 season went down.

Can sympathize with them ... recalling that 2010 Caps playoff series with Montreal.

Two power play goals for Fabbri in his Wings debut, a 4-2 win over Boston
Set up by Guelph teammate Tyler Bertuzzi
