We were having a discussion the other night about watching movies, and how I watch very few.
    Like....hardly any.....ever.
You could write down 15 movies that have been made over the last 40 years, and I could almost guarantee you I have never seen it.

    For example:
    Animal House
    Rudy
    Godfather
    Rocky
    Titanic
    Blues Brothers
    Slap Shot
    Dazed and Confused
    Goodfellas
    Full Metal Jacket
all of The Breakfast Club....seen bits and pieces
    Gone With The Wind
Saw the first Star Wars (77) and Empire Strikes Back (79)......nothing since.
    Sound of Music
    E.T
    The Exorcist
    Avatar
    Jurassic Park
    Forrest Gump
    Grease
    The Avengers
    Dark Knight
    Ghostbusters
    American Graffiti
    Cast Away
    Planes,Trains,Automobiles

    The Big Lebowski
    Shawshank Redemption

I feel less of a man for not having seen those two.

I haven't seen 10 of the 26 movies on your list, although I have seen bits and pieces of some of them.
I've seen the boot camp portion of Full Metal Jacket several times, but have never seen more than the first minute or two after they shift to Vietnam.
Godfather and Gone With the Wind are so long it requires some effort to see them, and I never have.
Grease I have issues with and flat out refuse to watch.
Other older movies like Sound of Music and American Graffiti, I've just never stumbled across and have no real desire to seek them out.

Shawshank is one of those movies that I just have to ask, "How?"
It's on cable so damn much you can watch 5 or 10 minutes here or there and eventually see the whole thing in about a month.

I was this way with The Godfather til like 10 years ago. I had watched so many different parts of it that I thought I'd seen it. I realized I had never seen it all the way through, though, beginning to end.

I rectified that one, at least.

Sounds like The Godfather insisted upon itself that you see it.

WTF, dude, what gives? Why no likey the talkies?

Seriously, I think my life would be immeasurably poorer if I hadn't seen many of those movies.

The only movie on your list that I haven't seen is The Avengers. And I'm not a huge movie watcher, at least anymore. But in college and in my 20s, I watched a shit ton of movies, many numerous times. I basically speak in movie.

I used to see maybe 10-12 movies a year in the theater, through the 1990s.

Then our son was born in 1999, and that pretty much cured me of the movie habit.

These days I occasionally see a music bio-pic (Bohemian Rhapsody, Rocket Man) and maybe the Star Wars movies in the theater, but that's all anymore.

Too expensive, and too many good things to watch on Netflix, on my schedule.
