Anybody who bought a Tigers season ticket package in April needs to be reminded of the phrase "Caveat Emptor." Presumably they knew what they were getting into.

Yeah, there hasn't been a great amount of public sympathy for poor season-ticket holders.

From the "Oh by the way" file, Justin Verlander makes his final start of the season Saturday against the Angels and needs six strikeouts to reach 3,000 for his career.
Remember when the big milestones -- 3,000 strikeouts, 500 home runs, 3,000 hits -- were drop what you're doing occurrences to see the guy get it? When we'd be tracking these things for a couple of weeks leading up to it? When ESPN would show every at-bat or start?
Maybe it's record and stat inflation, but it feels like we're a really long way from that.

I imagine Verlander will get fine coverage if he hits the number. He's an obvious first ballot Hall guy even if he doesn't do it, so milestones get more coverage.

Man - that was a meltdown in the 9th in Seattle. three hits and two wild pitches. Ball game. Bob Stanley and Calvin Shiraldi would be proud.

One of the reasons I won't miss 40-man rosters next year, or, Roberts overmanages again.

Nah, it’s more fun when Cardinals fans get shorted.

6 more shutout innings and he passes Rafy Palmeiro for 90th place on the WAR list. That’s breaking news today

Can't believe those big market behemoths from Tampa Bay, Minnesota, and Milwaukee made the playoffs.
