I believe that the NYPD was asked not to make a decision until the feds decided on whether the prosecute or not. He wasn’t on active duty since the incident.

Wondrous how slow the wheels of justice grind when it's a cop in the dock.

The city settled the wrongful death suit 4 years ago.

Former Alabama Republican Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard was convicted in 2016 of multiple ethics violations under laws that he wrote as part of a Republican "Clean up ethics at the statehouse" campaign that he engineered which won control of both houses. He has since been appealing, citing "vagueness" in the laws he wrote. He has yet to go to jail. Appeals continue.

Follow up: Off-duty cop won't be charged in Costco shooting

A grand jury has declined to charge an off-duty Los Angeles police officer who shot and killed an intellectually disabled man and critically wounded his parents in June at a Corona Costco, Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin announced Wednesday, Sept. 25.

Riverside County Grand Jury members heard testimony in a case that has elicited questions from the public about the legal limits and wisdom of using lethal force in crowded public settings by police officers, especially those who are off duty.

“After considering all the evidence, the grand jury decided that no criminal charges should be filed,” Hestrin said at a news conference at his office.
