Who has outkicked their coverage more than Ric Ocasek?

The Cars' late frontman, Ric Ocasek, was effortlessly cool and musically gifted. He was, however, not a handsome man -- and yet he still bagged one of the hottest women on the planet, supermodel Paulina Porizkova, who was 20 years his junior.

Considering she could have basically married anyone she wanted, Ric definitely outkicked his coverage, which is great for all of us who retain aspirations of landing a supermodel because we, too, are effortlessly cool and not handsome. Or not handsome, at any rate.

Who else, living or dead, do you think outkicked their coverage? Was it Ocasek-level?

Obviously this applies to both men and women.

 

Billy Joel.

Lyle Lovett. Although I hear he's a wonderful person, and if Julia Roberts wasn't a famous actress she'd be a less-than-solid 6.

Otis Nixon, Don Mossi and Willie McGee.

 

Only close one I can think of is/was Lyle Lovett and Julia Roberts. (EDIT: micro beat me to this by a minute)

Of course, not counting some of the gold digger classic such as Trump/Melania or a Anna Nicole Smith/old dude she married.

Paul McCartney and Linda. He may have been the world’s most eligible bachelor. She was an american divorcee and sort of cute, but not a head turner.

Staying with musicians, Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes comes to mind (Kate Hudson)

BTW, Monroe might be the honorary queen of this group. She married DiMaggio AND Arthur Miller, two less than handsome men.
