Hawaii just celebrated their 60th anniversary of becoming the 50th State.

I’d be surprised if Verlander ever explained himself. Celebrities don’t have to and often just don’t, and, yes, everyone else in the media will carry on like usual, because the business is now built around self-serving “relationships” vs. objectivity.

Someone has got to know the origin of this spat.

In the Athletic today, Brittany Ghiroli said there is speculation that Verlander believes the writer eavesdropped into a conversation he was having and then tweeted what he heard.

Then this would be a great time for the reporter to deny that assertion or admit to it.

Don't read the replies to his tweet. God, fans are the fucking worst.

I suppose Clay Travis is celebrating this kerfuffle by making a map of it.

If that’s the case, there is going to be a huge divide here about what is fair game and what is not fair game.

What was the tweet in question?

Everyone knows what Verlander is going.

No one knows what the writer did.

    That’s a problem.

It’s also a problem that a lot of what is being written is faulting Verlander and the Astros. I really cannot fault someone unless all the facts are presented.

And, Verlander comes across as one of the good guys. He has for years. Now, is that true? Don’t know. I do know that he is great in TV interviews. If there was one athlete today I would want talking baseball on MLB Tonight, it’s him.
