You might as well put the entire state of Kansas on the list.

Parts of Kansas are great. The Flint Hills for example. Just beautiful.

If you ever get the chance to drive through for a few days and see Strong City and Cottonwood Falls and the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, take it.

It's pretty enough that from Council Grove down to Cassoday and Matfield Green on State 177 it's been designated a National Scenic Byway.

Plenty of great places to eat, too. If you like steak.

In 2003 on the drive from New Mexico to New England the car broke down east of Dodge City, and that's where they towed it because there was a Ford dealer there. Took 'em 5 days to fix and those were 5 mighty interesting days in Dodge City which, if you squint just right, is kind of cool for a few reasons.

    Dodge is a shit hole.
    Period.
You can't have 2 major meat packing plants within 1/8 mile of each other and not be a shit hole that smells like a shit hole that looks like a shit hole with shitty drivers.

Dodge City has a nice library -- Carnegie money -- and their old west boardwalk is kitschy.

When the car broke down again on the other side of Kansas -- Eden -- I stayed in Fort Scott.

Went to the Bourbon County Fair and spent lots of time with the barn animals ... fun fun fun!

One could put together a heckuva road trip around Carnegie libraries.

Kansas is worth keeping solely because KCK is where the original Oklahoma Joe's is located. I refuse to call it Joe's KC.
