College football Week 0 thread

    Four games to whet your appetite this weekend.

    Miami vs. Florida (-7) in Orlando
    Arizona (-11) at Hawaii
    Villanova at Colgate
    Youngstown State at Samford

    Obviously, Canes-Gators is the most interesting of the lot.

    Going legal in my state on Sept. 1, and my office will be walking distance from a wagering parlor. This could get dangerous. Nah, it will be dangerous. And I'll love it.

    I managed to make it through my first extended gambling season on the plus side of the ledger. Only $70 up, but considering that was from the beginning of college football season through the NCAA basketball tournament, that's not too bad. I never had to dip into the wallet after my initial "investment" of only $60.
    I'm hoping to at least repeat that this season.

    Week 0 is stupid. If games were held last Saturday, would it have been Week -1?

    Yeah, it’s Week 1. It’s apparently two weeks long, but it’s Week 1.

    Regarding high school, I preferred it being called Week 0 because everyone understood Week 10 was the final week of the regular season. Now it's Week 11, which was previously considered the first week of playoffs. So I don't mind Week 0.

    Hope they do something nice for Dick Tomey at the Arizona-Hawaii game - 158 wins between the two schools.
