    OTOH
"... public recognition of Dr. Simon's emeritus status may be withheld if the pending criminal charges result in a felony conviction that is upheld after all post-trial motions and appellate issues are finally adjudicated...”

Here's the important part of the settlement:

Felony charges? Sexual assault incidents involving hundreds of victims? Liability to the university in the hundreds of millions of dollars?

I read another story where she said she'd "continue her scholarly pursuits in retirement." That's the academic equivalent of "I'll spend the rest of my life looking for the real killers."

Some of us saw the McDowell thing coming a long time ago. The team from the district my Dad worked for beat McDowell and Detroit Loyola cut blocked the hell out of him and won the state title in 2012.

The amazing story of Ishpeming (Mich.) High football team

Mick McCabe, the Freep's preps maven, recently called McDowell the "most overrated athlete I've ever covered."
