Ed McDonald played himself as the prosecutor in Goodfellas.

Huey Lewis had a pure cameo moment in "Back to the Future."

    This might be the winner.

Forget Paris, which was a mid-90s romantic comedy featuring Billy Crystal as an NBA ref and numerous appearances by stars of that era, including Kareem, who got T’d up twice and ejected by Crystal, leading to this exchange:

Kareem: “You can’t kick me out! This is my farewell tour!”

Crystal: “Well, let me be the first to say ... FAREWELL!!!”

So did Fred Dalton Thompson in Marie.

    Kevin Spacey in Seven.
William S Burroughs in Drugstore Cowboy
    Marlon Brando in Superman
Bob Hope in Spies Like Us
Anthony Bourdain in The Big Short
Joe Pesci in A Bronx Tale
Walken, obviously. Probably the best ever.
And even I don't care that much for Will Ferrell...Will Ferrell's scene in Wedding Crashers is very effective.

I didn't care for the movie overall, but I really enjoyed Neil Patrick Harris' scene in Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle.

Scrolling through his IMDB page, he worked pretty steadily post-Doogie, but that seems like the role that jumpstarted the second act of his career. How I Met Your Mother was the following year, and Harold and Kumar was the thing that made people remember him again.

    The movie is way underrated.

Also, Christopher Meloni has some comic chops in his stunt-casting cameo.

Brando's wheezing gasping sluggish portrayal of Jor-El took up the first half-hour of the movie, plus outtakes were cannibalized for later movies for 30 more years. Plus Brando was top billed on the marquee, so I'm gonna draw the line on that as a "cameo" appearance.

Now for real cameo roles in Superman movies, Noel Neill, Lois Lane in the 1950s teevee series, appeared in the 1978 movie as the mother scolding the school-age Lois on the train.

Neill also appeared in "Superman Returns" as Lex Luthor's geriatric sex conquest. Jack Larson, Jimmy Olsen in the fifties show, also appeared in "Returns" as Bibbo, the bartender serving Clark and Jimmy beers in the bar as the ever-alert newsman Kent, gurgling down a mouthful of Bud, notices a teevee going on in the background about a space shuttle bursting into flames.

Racking my brain here, having seen “Almost Famous” about 1000 times. When is Mike Myers in that?
