    Steely Dan is not yacht rock. Progressive jazz if anything ... if there is such a genre.

    Any band that needs Steve Gadd to pull off "Aja" cannot be the lightest of music lightweights.

    Steely Dan = lots of Michael McDonald = hardcore yacht rock

    They got yachtier as the ‘70s progressed.

    Wut, Baker Street is ROCK, man, not yacht rock. It's playing when Will Hunting and his crew beat the shit out of Carmine and his boys and Will gets sent to prison. I mean, that has to count for something, right?

    Christopher Cross is the king of yacht rock. "Sailing" and "Ride like the Wind" are the best the genre has to offer.

    Steely Dan is an acquired taste, apparently. I’ve always really liked them. Then again, not everyone likes oysters.
