    I think I remember feeling the same way about "Walk the Line." The story itself was so interesting, the musical numbers became almost a distraction.

    I'm looking forward to a rock bio movie that isn't being produced in association with the person(s) portrayed. Seem to be more and more hagiographic films being made that seem more like propaganda, burnishing a legacy than telling a good story. There have been a few of these movies about football programs in the South financially backed by boosters, these rock movies seem to strike a similar tone.

    Rented "The Commitments" because my gf and I are going to Ireland in a few weeks and we wanted to get into the spirit. Stopped watching after about 20 minutes bc neither of us could fucking understand half of what they were saying. Hopefully the Irish have cleaned up their English so I can understand them...
