There are lots of skill players to choose from, if you're not picky about the number or quality of roles.
QB - Tom Brady (did a voiceover on Family Guy and some cameos on Entourage)
RB - O.J. Simpson, Emmitt Smith (did a couple of small, one-off TV guest roles), Earl Campbell and Tony Dorsett (Necessary Roughness)
WR - Lynn Swann (The Waterboy), Michael Irvin (The Longest Yard remake), Hines Ward (The Dark Knight Rises), Jerry Rice (Necessary Roughness)
Offensive linemen are tough. You could put a few of the Steelers that were in Dark Knight Rises in there.

As an aside, that scene against the convict players from Necessary Roughness was a who's who of 1980s football stars: Jim Kelly, Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Randy White, Earl Campbell, Tony Dorsett, Herschel Walker and Too Tall Jones.

I had it all in my mind that the first answer was going to be Kim Jong-Un.

They were first to win it, but not first to challenge for it.

Ah, you are talking pre-1917 then.I seem to recall a team from Portland that I believe the Patricks were invovled with that challenged for it.

You are correct. The Portland Rosebuds won the PCHL and got the Cup birth.
