Having driven to Purdue and Penn state I can tell you Purdue is one hell of a lot easier to reach than Penn State. There’s no simple way to get to State College from Philadelphia or Pittsburgh.

Well, depends on what you're thinking about academically. Purdue has put out a heckuva lot of engineers and astronauts.

I’m talking strictly about geography and population size. I doubt Lafayette is even one of the 10 largest cities in the state. I used to live in Logansport so I’m a little familiar with the area. Just seems like a funny place for a school like that to grow.

Was two weeks ago. I was behind an 18-wheeler who was following the buggy.

    It was a joy.

As of 2018, Lafayette is 10th (behind Gary; ahead of Muncie). West Lafayette is 22nd.

Purdue also isn't a land grant.

True that, but one probably should. One of the top engineering/research universities in the country and the alma mater of the first and last men to walk on the moon.
