    I saw Laettner quite a bit in Detroit and he was not a strong man for the NBA
    He got pushed around quite a bit

    One thing about Magic...I hope he's leaving because he realized he's horrible at this job and not because he's gotten really sick or something.

    He looked healthy, although chunky, at the Final Four.

    He's (almost) 60. He's rich. He doesn't have to fuck around playing nursemaid to LaVar Ball.

    Sounds to me like he knew he had to fire the coaching staff, was dreading it, knew Jeanie didn't particularly want them fired, and just thought "Why the hell am I even doing this?"

    Being Magic Johnson is a pretty great gig. Being President of the Lakers is a giant pain, even if you half-ass it. I totally believe him when he says he's bailing because he wasn't having fun.

    I also think this would be a different conversation if he thought there was a decent chance that any top shelf free agents would come to the Lakers this off-season.
