That marks the initiation of their descent. They reached terminal velocity with St. Anger, but the black album was....I'm sorry, I still can't talk about it.

To be fair, we haven't seen what Gonzaga looks like without the coach who turned them into this power.

He turned them into a power but Dan Monson is who got the ball rolling.

No disagreement but Few is the one responsible for 95 percent of the run. So whenever he leaves for whatever reason, the question will come down to what has been seen at the smaller schools before. He's the rare guy who hasn't left so there is no comparison yet

Dan Monson failing after leaving Gonzaga was the best thing to ever happen to Gonzaga. Made Few realize the grass wasn't necessarily greener ...

Talked to a guy from the local CBS station today who said the title game drew a 55 rating in Richmond between 1130-12 (OT and just after).

Don Monson is pissing away his coaching career at Long Beach State. Turning an already non descript program into something more invisible.

The only innovative thing Monson's done in 10 years at Long Beach State is put into his first contract that *he* gets a percentage of the revenue on away games. So every year, Beach would do a gauntlet of body bag games (Duke, UNC, Kansas, and other powers who had no problem handling LB State) and Monson pocketed a hefty percentage of the body bag revenue. And every year, Long Beach State would start the conference part of the schedule 4-12.

Dan Fitzgerald had three 20 win seasons in the previous four at Gonzaga before he retired and Monson stepped in.
