60 years ago... Honestly, Chaminade was probably more embarrassing.

Pitt won a football title in 1976.

    No, they won't.

They've rewritten that script. These last two Virginia seasons will be tied together as one extended story in the future. And it'll be sold as one helluva redemption tale. The theme of that future 30 for 30 just totally changed.

    Yes.
As to the notion that they will only be remembered for losing to UMBC, as someone else suggested, nonsense. The two seasons’ results are joined.
As to the notion that Va only won because of bad officiating, another point made by someone else, get over it. They trailed by 2 with 3 seconds left in the regional final and won. They trailed by four with 8 seconds left in the semis and won. They trailed by 3 with 15 seconds left in the finals and won.

The point of replay is to get the call right. They did.

The bitterness and contempt for Virginia is small minded and absurd. Some people can’t stand it if a new kid joins the club.

It’s not losers, but so many right things need to happen to win it all. You have to be good and lucky. You are battling it out with 60+ teams and 20+ could win it if they get on a roll. Almost every team can beat anyone in the tourney as well.

Making the Final Four is a reasonable goal for quality programs. After that it’s all gravy. Enjoy the ride and the wins, but every college basketball fan should expect to lose their last game. When you win, realize how special it is.

You have to be how old to even remember that?

    50?

That's 33 percent of the country.

Which is a lot for a claim of fans who "will never know" what a football or basketball title feels like.
