Cuts coming to McClatchy papers

    Miami took it hard again, too. Most of the remaining stars no longer remain.

    More from their earnings release.

    The company reported EBITDA of 118 million in FY2018. But EBITDA excludes interest expense. And McClatchy has lots of interest expense. If you deduct the 76 million in annual interest expense that leaves about 42 million dollars in cash flow.

    The company closed the third quarter with total liabilities of 1.548 billion dollars and cash of just over four million dollars so there is no cushion.

    I have said this before but if you work at McClatchy and can get out, do so.

    But if you don’t give them the bonuses, someone else will. Even if they are pushing the company into the ground.
