The Houston Chronicle is looking for a reporter to join its team covering the Astros and Rockets beats. The position requires the ability to do a wide-range of content (game coverage, features, analysis, daily notes, podcasts) for both our print edition and our sports vertical (Texas Sports Nation). Interested candidates may contact sports editor Reid Laymance via e-mail at reid.laymance@chron.com. Please include a resume and writing samples (no more than five).

I don't know much about the Chronicle or who's leaving, so I wonder if this is lead Astros reporter and back-up Rockets, or lead Rockets reporter and back-up Astros. Given the time of year, I bet it's the former. I doubt it's one person serving dual primary roles.

Given the overlap, I'm guessing backup for both.

Adam, it is to back up on both Astros and Rockets.
