    Marty Brennaman retiring from the Reds broadcast booth after this season. The voice of my childhood, adulthood, everything-hood. Dang it, I'm not ready.

    I wonder if that's Gehrig on the voiceover, telling Ruth, "You're backing out now, you're backing out?"

    And if it wasn't, who the hell stands in the batting cage giving Babe Ruth advice on hitting?

    Understand Steve Blass announced he's leaving Pirates broadcasts at the end of the season as well. The Roger Angell story on him is easily in the Top 10 of baseball stories I've read.
