LA Times moving to El Segundo

The always entertaining, Tom Hoffarth has been freelancing lately in the LA Times, writing mostly about sports media. You would think having a LAT sports media reporter/columnist would be a no-brainer, yet they haven't had one in a couple of decades. The last one they employed was Larry Stewart if my memory and Google serve me correctly.

Upon further review, Larry Stewart wrote about sports media until 2007, so one decade ago not two.

The LAT had a Mumbai bureau?

 

When you see moves like adding a Singapore bureau it lends credence tot he rumors that PSS wants to establish a national presence. Th easiest way would be to buy the rest of the Tribune company. My understanding is that PSS still owns 26%.

 

Another new hire with an interesting job description.

 

A few days ago they brought on Gustavo Arellano (Ask a Mexican) as a Metro reporter, he previously appeared in the LAT as an opinion writer after he resigned on principle from the OC Weekly.
