    Statistical oddity.

Tonight, Murry Bartow will coach UCLA against Jerod Haase's Stanford team. This is the first time that two ex-coaches of UAB MBB have been matched up.

Today is the seventh anniversary of Gene Bartow's death, and I imagine he's smiling as he looks down at his son taking up his mantle at UCLA.

They're lowering the corporate banner to half-mast in Bristol.

    Margins of today's five ACC games: 10, 11, 13, 19, 25.
The good: Six ranked teams, all of which look strong.
Don't dismiss: Syracuse. They'll luck into the NCAAs, then win a couple of ruin brackets.
On the bottom end, there's Miami, which has seven healthy scholarship players at last check; Notre Dame, which has lost its two starting guards for the year with injuries; Wake Forest, which has no excuses but is, according to KenPom, likely to go winless in the league; and Pitt, which did the 0-18 thing a year ago.

FSU only got within 13 of UVa because Tony Bennett put the walkons in early and FSU started pressing them to go on an 18-3 run. Virginia could have won by 35 easily.

Their half court defense is phenomenal. Teams are forced to or tricked into taking low percentage shots that over time kill them. You almost never get a high percentage shot against UVA.

And on the other end, everyone is taking high percentage shots except for Guy, who is one of the most unstoppable shooters I have seen when he is on, and is just looking for six inches of daylight.

I know they have their tournament troubles, but Bennett might be the best regular season coach in America.

It’s a hard job to be a true critic of the status quo and the establishment, yet be the leading cheerleader for the status quo and the establishment. Actually, it’s impossible.
Pick a side Jay. You can’t earn millions as their partner and be an honest critic.

An honest critic would tell Zion Williamson that he needs to stop playing for Duke this year. He’s the lock as the #1 draft choice. Playing in games for the remaineder of the season is not in his best interest. He’s not going to get enough experience against NBA quality players to justify the risk of injury. He’s not getting enough money to break a sweat for the remuneration of others.
