I was just going to say this, that St. L had a history of acquiring then keeping pending FAs. Seems like a great fit for Goldsmith.

This isn’t the ‘90s or aughts, though, and the game has changed. What used to work for STL doesn’t necessarily work these days. See: Heyward. See: Price.

Appealing to sentiment or history isn’t going to get it done. Cold, hard cash might not be enough. See: Stanton.

Paxton, Cano, Diaz, Segura ... somebody better stop Dipoto before he trades the Space Needle for buildings to be named later.

They gave up very little. Looks like a steal to me.

    I agree.

But I'll beat the drum for Harper until he signs elsewhere. He's not Trout, or maybe even Arenado, but he's 26 and already an em-vee-pee. It's the Cardinals best chance to get the next cornerstone player and be the face of the franchise once Molina retires.

The bill has come due on the years of "dry powder" and "payroll muscle." Time to pony up, STL. Time to fucking pony up.

I heard that of the 250 or so trades over the past four years in MLB, DiPoto was involved in like 18 percent of them.

The guy likes to wheel and deal.

He's the me of roto. I led the NIAFL this season with right around 150 moves.

Anyone else think four years for Eovaldi is a big risk with his TJ history?
