I agree, but dont do it at the expense of someone more deserving.

Chef, the only way the system will be improved upon, let alone replaced, is if it creates enough injustices that a majority of P-5 schools no longer want it.

The Georgia nonsense can be put to bed except for the next month when ESPN will endlessly speculate about who Georgia could beat

Within the parameters of this system, this is an OK outcome.

Because I had some time to kill, I looked at the playoff predictions of the 52 -- yes, 52 -- ESPN experts.
One-third of them (18) graduated from an SEC school.
The SEC people picked Georgia at nearly four times the rate of others. Eight of the 18 SEC folk (44.4%) had Georgia in the field. Only four of the other 34 (11.8%) had the Dawgs.

Pac-12 & Big Ten left out for 2nd straight year.

Alabama in for 5th straight year, Clemson for 4th straight year, Oklahoma for 3rd straight year.

It's pretty much the Alabama-Clemson-Oklahoma Invitational with a rotating fourth spot.

This line from ESPN made my head hurt. Strength of record was better than strength of schedule but the strength of schedule was better than the strength of record

Translation: The numbers mean what we say they mean to support our arbitrary placing of the teams.

If you took a poll this morning of the p5 schools if they want it replaced or expanded, you would get at least 2, maybe 3 yays. (SEC, Big 10).....pac 12 is maybe.
Nays would be ACC and Big 12.

Would Oklahoma be more fun than UCF?
