    I'm wondering what the financials are behind that. If CAA gets its percentage because it negotiated the contract no matter what happens, they can drop her and still collect. But, it might also mean they see a dismissal coming.

    I'm guessing NBC is using this incident to get out of their contract with her. The real reason is poor ratings.

    NBC does what it always does.

    Hires a "big name" from another network, lets him/her fail (sometimes on their own, sometimes by being places at a bad time slot), lets them go. Now they're damaged goods. Crisis averted.

    For Kelly, a once-time-only money grab. Now she can go follow Glenn Beck to the upper 200 channels of satellite TV.
