Speaking of a subject that has been written about tirelessly, Leavy's Mickey Mantle biography was incredible. She talked to basically every living person who ever knew him, including people who played against him in high school and the minor leagues. She also tracked down the guy who found the ball Mantle hit out of Griffith Stadium in Washington in 1953 and got him to tell his side of the story.

Her Koufax bio was outstanding as well. Looking forward to reading the Babe book, though I'm waiting for the price to come down a bit on Amazon.

So the Dodger bullpen is making this Series a possible sweep for the Red Sox. Madsen walks in a run with the bases loaded to tie it, gives up two-run single. He's a decent pitcher. It's just Boston's year. Nothing seems to go wrong for them.

True, but there are no starters available who are the caliber player of Machado. If you can't get a front-line pitcher, the only option is bolster other areas and hope you can cover up the holes in the rotation.

Also, signing Machado would allow them to possibly move Andujar for a starter at the deadline once Gregorious has returned (hopefully at full health and ready to pick up where he left off), if they wanted to go that route.

Looks like the Blue Jays have found their new manager.

Of all the names floated around here for that job that was one I had not seen.

That’s two guys hired today out of the Rays system. The Opener coming to Minnesota and Toronto?

Not sure if this is accurate, but pretty crazy if true.

They told him to send a "cheque"? Did he retire to Montreal or London?

Pretty sure the Cardinals have just won the offseason.

Stubby Clapp named first base coach.

If Stubby can convince Harper to sign, then yeah.
