So, MMA/UFC wasn't a fad

    McGregor used to make sure he spent all his money going into his next fight, so he'd have that hunger to dig deep and fight again. He spends money like an idiot, so he could probably still manage to bankrupt himself, but it's harder when you've had nine-figure paydays. You can be rich and still be hungry for more, but that's a different hunger than the hunger that comes for having nothing.

    Kind of hilarious at what UFC gets away with, both in terms of what is said and how we are supposedly a concussion-concerned society

    I disagree. Fighters fight. I'm a boxing and not a UFC guy, but the history of boxing is the story of guys who couldn't leave the rung because it gave them something they needed more than money. It's full of even more guys who died broke, of course.
