Running 2018 Stanley Cup playoffs thread

Hey @ChrisLong, time to pull out your driver and putter.

Multiple NHL playoff games will air on Golf Channel, for some reason

 

Rooting for a Canadian team or the Sharks.

 

Ready and waiting.

 

I saw that. It's usually the Kings who are first to the golf course. This must be to get the Sharks in the mood to trade their sticks for clubs.
The game will be on Prime Ticket, too.

 

Ducks are 11-1-1 in their last 13. I'm optimistic they can make a deep run through the relatively weaker half of the western conference.

 

Just don't give them a game 7 at home

 

The refs and the league will conspire against them to prevent any type of run.

 

I got tickets at face that I'd love to flip for a profit, so please do.

Also, went back and looked at the Thanksgiving standings, because folks love to say if you're out of playoff position at Thanksgiving, historically, it's an indicator of being in trouble as far as making the playoffs go.

On Thanksgiving '17:
ATLANTIC - TB, TOR, DET
METRO - CBJ, NJ, NYI
WCs - PIT, WSH
Failed to make it: DET, NYI
Teams outside of position to make it: BOS, PHI

CENTRAL - STL, WPG, NSH
PACIFIC - VGK, LA, CAL
WCs - VAN, SJ
Failed to make it: STL, CAL, VAN
Teams outside of playoff position to make it: ANA, COL, MIN

So 6 of 8 in the East, 5 of 8 in the West.

 

Van didn't make it either. Add Minnesota.
