No further interviews or statements "at this time."

He has to cash in eventually, right?

I think the time to cash in was before the Cubs won the WS.

Eh, maybe he'll write a book. And as CD Boogie said, the value of a Steve Bartman "exclusive" cratered last fall.

He could cash in by selling an authenticated Steve Bartman World Series ring.

Maybe ESPN will do an updated 30-for-30 with that grinning fuckstick they interviewed in the original (the guy who stormed over there in the immediate aftermath). Bartman and him, in the same room ... and Bartman says, "Hey man, check this out" ...

Yeah, who really cares anymore? And nine months after the WS, as if the team had been working down a massive to-do list and finally got to it: No. 1,452, give Bartman a ring and be done with it.

I know Bartman went to hell and back for doing something most fans would have done, but I don't know about giving him something Ernie Banks, Ryne Sandberg, Ferguson Jenkins, etc., etc., don't have.

He's declined to cash in for nearly 14 years. FWIW, he's shown a lot of dignity, a word that's lost it meaning in the 21st century

Ryne Sandberg didn't have to live in seclusion for more than a decade after the 1984 NLCS.

He doesn't have to live in seclusion, and he doesn't live in seclusion. By all accounts, he lives a normal life like the rest of us. Brushes his teeth and goes to the office every day.

I don't know a single Cubs fan that has been angry at him for more than 13 years now. The Mythologization of Steve Bartman, which was really a chance for Cubs fans to continue to mythologize themselves and the franchise, began in earnest by the time Gonzalez bobbled the double play ball.

They fucking love that this happened. They love it. Especially now.

Us Sox fans would have kicked his ass, though.
