Honestly, he does need to get down there as soon as he can without disrupting rescue operations.

This happens in every disaster, people helping people, but it still is great to see the way people in Louisiana have responded to help each other over the past week. There have been tons of people showing up at staging areas, coordinating with emergency management and law enforcement officials, and taking their own boats into flooded areas to pull people out. Often while their own homes are in danger of being flooded. God only knows how many people have been rescued by "the Cajun Navy" in the past week, and God bless them for their selflessness.

Telenovela Tony must be confused if he wants Obama to come down and have the federal government provide aid. Seems to me he is advocating for big government. Anyone in the Badger State want to check on him today?

Not sure I get this "it's hypocritical to want disaster relief if you're a conservative" bit.

Not painting all conservatives with that broad brush. Just certain folk. Plus, if you're calling for a federal response, you're asking for FEMA to put us all in concentration camps.

"No, it's not every man for himself. But private charity is the only constitutional help for the struggling. When the government gets involved, only symptoms get treated and the actual problem keeps getting bigger and bigger."

I mean, you're right. Obama should have been down there with a fucking squeegee mopping up two feet of rain. But he's playing golf. Sad! When will the corrupt and disgusting media take him to task? And maybe talk about his emails?

While it would be nice for Obama to go down there, I can't help but think that if he did visit, his critics would be claiming he was trying to make it about himself.
