One of my old college buddies has been posting videos of him and a few others going through Baton Rouge neighborhoods on boats, helping people get out of their houses and to higher ground.
I-55 is also closed just past the Mississippi-Louisiana state line because of the flooding.

My sister lives in St. Francisville, which is 25 miles north of Baton Rouge, and her neighborhood is completely cut off. Fortunately, she lives on the high ground, so she isn't going to get any water in her house, but my wife's cousin who lives in BR wasn't so lucky. She had 8 feet of water in her house and has literally lost everything she owns.

Sorry to hear about that. But glad your sister is high and dry. My sister moved back to Florida from the Slidell area a month or two before Katrina hit. Can't imagine losing it all. And Sunshine, you're doing a heckuva job. :)
