Dave Andriesen, a sportswriter turned teacher, was a longtime poster here before migrating over to the other board.

Sadly I just saw this on Facebook. He's in the final stage of hospice care -- liver disease.

There is a gofundme account that will go toward his wife and young son, both of whom he doted over daily.

Never met him in person but I generally had good experiences with Dave, here and there.

    Thanks for the interactions, Dave.

David is a fantastic human being, a treasured friend and a wonderful father.

Had nothing but good experiences with him as well. Will always remember him being in the Seattle PIs Transactions, along with many others, in the final edition.

His post announcing his departure from the P-I and the end of his baseball coverage for it -- he outed himself at the end of it -- is one of the great ones ever written for this board. It brought tears to my eyes.

    So does this.

God, this is horrible news. He and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I keep thinking about his son being left without a father. This is just terrible.
