    Formed the first real "Twin Towers" lineup with Wilt the first couple seasons of his career.

    I guess his best semi-recent comparison would have been David Robinson.

    I watched him play at Bowling Green. Got his autograph once when I was a high school brat.

    Would agree with the Robinson comparison. Can't really say why but also see a comparison to
    Kevin Garnet.

    Thurmond was a physical specimen that probably did not get the acclaim he deserved because
    of playing in a era of Russell and Chamberlain. At his peak his numbers were off the charts
    20 pts and 20 RBs a game.

    Recall that the Warriors' front court for a season or two was Chamberlain, Thurmond and Wayne Hightower . If you want to give that trio a nickname, how about the Tall Cedars of Lebanon?
