Computers taking away reporters jobs

    AP wasn't doing briefs on Minor League Baseball games until this. If it was for Major League Baseball games, then it would be taking away people's jobs.

    This idea has been around for at least a decade. It's hardly anything new and the crap these automated writing simulators produce is horrible. I guess it will eventually evolve like most things do but I don't see anyone losing their job over this anytime soon. Lame.

    They've started rolling these out. Pretty basic 150-200 word briefs that might work if you want a brief or a capsule, but I think you could still take five minutes with the box score and schedule and write something better. Looking through a few of these, there's some that are fine and some that are not fine.
    There's also some stuff they'll have to fix in the software, like not abbreviating Colorado when it's the name of the team.
