That's just lovely: the Blathering Berman Victory Tour, all season long.

Pre-Internet, there was no better show than Berman and Tom Jackson doing Prime Time.

I like Berman, but I liked him more back in the day.
Everything seems to be laced heavily with gravitas today.
I know that goes with his seniority -- his brand? -- but still ...

I think he's been unfairly portrayed in recent years, with a lot of his pioneering work overlooked. Happened to Simmons, too. Berman didn't seem to evolve. Simmons at least had the good sense to provide a platform for young writers who would make him seem relevant. Berman just got hackneyed and groan-some. Wonder if he was pushed out. Not a fan of yearlong swan songs. These guys don't need any more adulation.

Oh yeah and to me in those days Countdown was the best pregame show.

I'm trying to remember the last time I watched more than a few minutes of Berman on TV. Maybe the HR Derby, I guess. Do people just hate watch him or something?

I watch the Home Run Derby with the sound off because of Berman.
