"That's Racist, Pilgrim"

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Evil ... Thy name is Orville Redenbacher!!, Apr 29, 2016.

  1. California lawmakers refuse to honor John Wayne on due to some racist statements he made.
I can't say I blame lawmakers on this one. Wayne's statement to Playboy in the 1971 article are pretty bad. In terms of a government entity, I'd probably pass on honoring him to.

Racist statements lead lawmakers to reject John Wayne Day

Times have changed. We certainly have no problem putting irresponsible people in positions of leadership and giving them plenty of authority.

    I love the last people:

Tell me what you're wearing today.
    Guy:
    A shirt?
    Girl: Awesome clothing.

And why are you wearing this?
    Guy:
To... stay out of the sun?
    Girl: And because it's comfortable.

Do you feel weird wearing what you're wearing at all?
    Guy:
    No.
    Girl: No. I feel free.

John Wayne married a Mexican; what more do you people want from him? Jeesh.

Who knew John Wayne was a student of DuBois?

I love Vice, but that is like shooting fish in a barrel using a rocket launcher. If anyone they interviewed wasn't strung out, high as a kite or drunk, I'd be surprised. Coachella is a place people go to be seen. For those that believe being seen is a big deal, well, I just don't see a tremendous amount of intellect involved...

I used to go to music festivals - long before "festival style" became a thing. Chacos, shorts and a tee shirt were the uniform of damn near everybody. Rain jackets and cap if it was raining. Of course, we were also camping, not "glamping."

Also, you damn kids get off my lawn.

Ha! I had a get off my lawn moment and, while it was happening, had the revelation that it was happening. I hung my head in shame upon finishing what I was saying. Truly awful...
