Where in the world is Scott Ostler?

I have enjoyed reading Scott Ostler's columns for years - - going all the way back to the days of The National. Recently his columns in the SF Chronicle became less frequent and it has been quite a while since he had one there. In the past, he always had a weekend column.

His Twitter feed has not had an entry for more than a week and here is his "personal info" from Twitter as of this morning:

Sports columnist for the SF Chronicle. Regular guest on Chronicle Live on Comcast. Then he disappears...


Does anyone know if this means he has retired? Hopefully, it does not mean that he is not well.

I figured that someone on SJ.com would know about this...

 

If he left the Chronicle, it was today, since he has a column from yesterday posted: “Bad” luck helped make Warriors who they are

 

Maybe he's with Waldo.

 

Or Carmen Sandiego.

 

I've been enjoying his stuff for the past 5? years; seems current.

 

He lost his wallet in El Segundo then was stuck in traffic on the 405.

 

I checked; he's not in my kitchen.

 

Given the thread title, seems more likely.
