Shaq over Hakeem is going to cause some hand-wringing.

My dad would be glad to see how Elgin Baylor has held up on the list. He always said Baylor was Dr. J before Dr. J.

And really wish I could have seen some of the Russell- Chamberlain matchups in their prime in the 60s. Have always been on Wilt's side in that debate, but even now, I think that would be a fascinating watch to see those two compete against each other.

Is it me, or is Dirk Nowitzki way too low?

There's a basketball geek I went to college with - he's a D-II women's coach now - who will argue with you to the death that Larry Bird was better than Jordan. His argument is basically that Bird is better than him statistically in a bunch of categories. I always argue back that teams had a million possessions per game during Bird's early years, and that Jordan was so much better at scoring that it trumps Bird's advantages in rebounding and whatever other bullshit stats he throws in there as if every skill is equal.

That list does seem to favor longevity above other criteria. Kareem for one, and it seems they're valuing Duncan's endless string of very good seasons above Hakeem's four-year run that was much greater than Duncan's apex. Some others like that too.
