I was right. $1.41.

I'm in Indiana, about 45 miles outside of Chicago, just over the state line.

Just paid $1.579. Would have been 4 cents less if I paid cash.

 

Regular is $2.97 at the Shell station on the corner. But it's 72 degrees here today.

The Great Grover has forbidden any tax increases for any reason, ever. Never mind the chunks of falling concrete plunging off the highway overpass through your windshield.

 

I drove by a place yesterday that had gas for $2.89 or so when the cheapest places in the area are a dollar less. It's a crappy self-serve independent station, has no garage, and has been more than a dollar above competing gas stations for at least two years. I have no idea what this place is doing.

 

It's a front for the mob.
