The guy was just being ironic in his commentary.

 

Staged, but no joke ...

Speaking with PhillyVoice a couple days later, he noted that the dynamic he parodied does, in fact, infuriate him.

 

The guy doesn't have a "point." He's just an asshole.

 

I figured all along it was a troll job.

If it had been real in any respect, the asshole was guilty of robbery -- putting his hands on someone else's personal property (the steak) without permission.

 

I immediately thought all of the above. Should have done my homework, but it was almost bedtime.

 

Damn, that steak looked good.
