We are hiring at the Las Vegas Review-Journal. We have an opening for videographer who will do mainly MMA/UFC coverage for us. It's the first of 30 positions we will be filling in the next two months, including a few spots in Sports. I hope to post those here next week.

Saw your post on APSE about the 30 spots. I remember another paper three years ago going on a major hiring binge. Obviously, lots of caution flags with everything going on here. Still, there are worse places to land.

    It's either:
    a) Leave the GateHouse fold, jobs magically reappear.
or b) Republican moneybags has to be seen creating jobs in an election year to help the cause.

Is it just me, or do things seem a little turbulent at the LVRJ these days?

Not a fan of UFC but would think there are a heckuva lot worse places to land than covering that in Vegas. Doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.

Loo0ks like some of the jobs are moving the design/editing back to Las Vegas from Austin.

Yes. Someone with stroke got to Adelson and said this is crap, bring it back.

Unemployment has dropped 0.2 percent with all of these new Las Vegas Review Journal jobs.;)

This one has been filled. We hired Heidi Fang, who formerly worked for Fox. Glad to have her on board.
