    I really don't think it's news anymore when someone in the arts comes out, barring a superstar actor maybe.

    I'm sure it was news when Elton John came out in the mid-70s. But if he did it today, it would be like ... "yeah, that sounds about right."

    Agreed. Is this really worth its own thread? Unless it's breaking some significant new barrier or a seriously A list name, I don't regard most of these "coming out" stories to even be news anymore. Front man for some band comes out? Pardon me while I yawn...
