We Can't Have Nice Things: elementary school edition

    Alabama's teacher of the year leaves the wealthiest system in the state to go teach at an inner-city school. After the school year begins she is moved from 2nd to 5th grade, then told her state certification is only good through third grade (despite being nationally board certified for ages 7-12) and that she needs more testing to prove she belongs.

    Instead, she quit.

    It's not the bureaucracy. Higher-ups in the school wanted her gone.

    Nothing about that story makes any sense. But the rules are rules crowd will be along any time now.
