...in which Disney celebrates its stock's 17 percent increase this year by laying off 350 employees.

I'd imagine a lot of folks there are in that six-figure bracket. But what about the people making seven figures and more?

Just making light of ESPN's response to the good news about its financial health. "Hey, looking good, but we can look better!"

 

I think long-lost SJ members sxy and IJAG are at various ESPN venues. I hope they survive the purge.

 

Sad stuff.

If ala carte cable ever comes along, it'll get much, much worse.

 

I wonder what gets cut? I hope it's not writers, but with all the free content ESPN just gives away, I gotta think, on some level, the writing bit will get scaled way back.

 

When, not if, unbundled cable comes along, ESPN et al. will be among the last to be hurt ... if they're hurt at all.
