    The wife and I are thinking about going on a weekend getaway for our upcoming anniversary. Anywhere in the continental United States is fair game.

    Thinking about:

    New Orleans
    Portland, Ore.
    New England
    Grand Rapids, Mich.
    Colorado Springs
    Austin

    That's just a preliminary list.

    Suggestions welcome.

    Been in Chicago twice this summer for a quick overnight trip. Make sure you hit Weiner's Circle late at night on a weekend.

    It depends on what you're looking for but if you're going in late September/early October I can't think of anywhere more beautiful than upstate New York.

    Fly out very early on Friday morning, we have Friday all day and night. All day Saturday and Saturday night. Home on Sunday.
