Alabama governor getting divorced ... at age 72

    And after 50 years of marriage.

    Gov. Robert Bentley's wife filing for divorce

    They've apparently been on the rocks for a while and he was just re-elected last November, so I guess she decided enough was enough and there was no longer a political reason to stay together.

    Still, seems strange to split after so long.

    At that age, what the hell is the point? My wife and I are in our 50s, and we're at the stage in our marriage where we don't pick a fight so we can have make-up sex ... we pick fights so we get to sleep in separate bedrooms.

    Wonder if he'll start taking his state salary to afford the divorce lawyers?
