Last night, ESPN awarded its prestigious "Best Team" ESPY to the "USWNT." The story notes that the gals were dressed in their "Sunday best" to receive the award.

I was really pulling for the Chicago Blackhawks, and felt they would have been deserving, perhaps more so.

I'm also interested to look back and see how often other recipients' clothing was mentioned in the follow-up story.

    Thoughts?

It should have been Duke basketball, and it would have been if not for ESPN's anti-Duke bias. #ActualThingsIReadOnTwitter

The media loves to comment on gals clothing.

The WaPo recently mentioned grandma's shoes, not something they typically do with men:

Clinton, smiling in a red-white-and-blue pantsuit and navy Salvatore Ferragamo patent leather flats, pretended not to hear him and remarked, “I actually love parades.”

And, in politics, many find such coverage insulting.

Hell, folks doing Red Carpet coverage at the Oscars were encouraged to ask women better questions than, "what are you wearing?"

So, why do we treat world class women athletes like cute little kids dressed up for a grown up event?

The Blackhawks should have identified as women.
