He associated with a group that promotes the idea that evolution and creationism are compatible.

Bethel professor resigns after college stance on human origin - South Bend Tribune: Education

Bethel faculty members are required to sign contracts each year stating that they believe specific Christian doctrine, including that God is the creator of all things and the grantor to salvation, and that the Bible is the divinely inspired and only authoritative word of God.

This year, the board of trustees added specific language on the creation/evolution debate. On June 9, the board adopted an "Educational Philosophy Statement on Origins." The statement references that "The Article of Faith on Creation states, 'We believe that the first man, Adam, was created by an immediate act of God and not by a process of evolution.'" It adds that "this doctrine is a corporate commitment on Adam and all humanity."

Good. These policies weed out the good professors and allow the colleges to churn out more and more unemployable dummies, leading to less comptition for those with good educations.

That you spelled a word wrong in this arrogant post is all kinds of wonderful. Who says you can't make people happy?

Did you read Bethel's stance? Did it have any typos? Did you agree with it all?

If not, you might be considered arrogant.

Did anyone other than me actually read the story closely?

    Might thoughts:

    1. It's harsh to require returing faculty/administrators to sign that creation/Adam clause as a condition of employment
    2. They have to state that they believe Adam was created by God and not a result of evolution, but it's not intended to suppress individual opinion :(

I guess if they are private they can require that. People have to willingly sign on to work there, and they know it's rabidly fundamentalist. If there were public money in it they'd be cut off ankle high.

Little arrogant there, but no typos.

The word "doctorquant" and the phrase "[a] little arrogant" rarely appear in public together.
