The 2015 British Open

Discussion in 'Sports and News' started by Evil ... Thy name is Orville Redenbacher!!, Jul 13, 2015.

  1. Yes!
My favorite tournament of the year; The British Open is here.

No surprise Jordan Speith is the odds on favorite.
According to this EPGA Golf Betting, EPGA Odds, EPGA Lines at Bovada Sportsbook

DJ, Fowler, Rose, Scott, Stenson and Oostthuizen are among the top favorites... Oh, a Tiger Woods.
He was playing his irons well at the Greenbrier Classic last weekend. I don't think his game is well or well-rounded enough to contend.

I'd love to see Day get a major.

No doubt Speith will be in the hunt. I hope jet lag doesn't throw him off.
Imagine Speith bagging this one and the hype heading to the PGA

I think Sunday afternoon we'll see a repeat major winner hoisting the Claret Jug. No first timers this go-round.

  2. Team times and pairings.
Speith and DJ are together for the first two days. A few groups ahead are Reed and Patrick and then Poulter and Bubba Watson.

    It's Spieth.

Jet lag and lack of familiarity with the Old Course are two big factors against Spieth. He should've been in Scotland instead of the Quad Cities. Nevertheless, I'm not counting him out completely.

I'll respect the fact that Spieth continues to go back to scene of his first professional victory. I just think that's the way that dude is wired.

If I were there, I'd be walking with Dufner, Jimenez and Daly.

    Top 5:
I'll take Fowler to win. Els and Spieth both in Top 10. Tiger will play well. I think Daly plays well too.
I really really hope T. Watson plays really well.

Someone at the R&A has a good sense of humor. Or humour.

I'd like to see that group either go 66--64-65, or 78-79-84.........because if either one of those scenarios happen, Fife will be a hopping little village for sure.

When I got the note that the pairings came out, I immediately said "Please let Woods and Dufner be paired together."

They played practice rounds together Sunday and Monday. Either there's nothing to the affair story or Dufner doesn't give a shit what his ex does.

  11. Guuess it makes sense, but I never really thought about it.
According to this - [IMG] Rickie Fowler's golf attire for the week is set. I assumed when they signed endorsement deals someone was dressing them I thought they had a little more choice in what they were wearing. What if you wake up Saturday - after shooting a 65 and you fee like wearing the same colors again? Guess not.

So it isn't Rickie's mama who dresses him funny.
